The Rockport Way
Our mission is to provide manufacturers of spiral wound paper, film and foil tubular products, and proven winding and processing technology so they may meet their competitive metrics in a continually evolving marketplace. Rockport strives every day to surpass our competitors in quality, customer service, and value, and maintain our reputation as a trusted strategic partner.
Formed in 1955 as a supplier of patented recutting technology to Union Carbide, the unique Rockport Drum Cutter was the process employed by Eveready Battery for processing the “Cat Of 9 Lives” AA and C sized battery casings. By 1975 the Rockport product line had developed and grown to supply all the required machinery and support products for making and processing spiral wound tubes.
In 1989 Robert J. Fulop purchased Rockport and promptly relocated into the current 20,000 sq ft production facility to join sister company Wire Lab Company in a cooperative design, engineering and production facility. The present location on Cleveland’s west side is about 10 minutes from Hopkins International Airport, right off of Interstates 71 and 480.
In 2013 Robert L. Fulop (current owner) purchased Rockport and Wire Lab Company to continue with the design, engineering, and development the highest quality spiral tube processing machinery backed up by unsurpassed customer service.
